ROOT CANAL TREATMENT Root canal treatment is the process of removing the infected pulp from a tooth. This is done by debriding (cleaning) and shaping the root canal, then filling it with gutta-percha points and sealing it with a dental cement. Root canal treatment procedure saves the tooth from extraction. It involves removal of the pulp from inside the tooth, then root canal filling and sealing it. This is done to save teeth that are badly damaged or infected with root canal abscess or periapical infection.
